Sexual predator sought by police

Canton Police Department and Fulton County CrimeStoppers are assisting the
Illinois State Police in locating a sex offender, recently released from the
Illinois Department of Corrections, who has failed to register as a sex offender
as required by the State of Illinois Sex Offender Registry Act.
Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Tommy L. Kruzan, a.k.a.
"Stumpy," 24, who was released from Western Illinois Correctional Facility in
Mt. Sterling on or about May 19. Kruzan should be registered as a sexual
predator. He was convicted and sentenced to three years for aggravated criminal
sexual abuse with a victim between the ages of 13 and 16.
Kruzan is described as 5 foot, 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black
hair and brown eyes. Both of his arms have burn scars. Kruzan is originally from
Canton and known to have family and friends in the Canton area.
Illinois law states that a sex offender must register in person: with the chief
of police of the city or sheriff of the county, in which he or she resides or is
temporarily domiciled for more than 10 days; within 10 days of establishing a
residence or temporary domicile; within 10 days after a conviction if sentenced
to probation; or within 10 days after discharge, parole, or release if confined,
institutionalized, or imprisoned; providing ID and documentation proving
residence; paying a $10 initial registration fee, and $5 annual renewal fee.
Failure to register as a sexual offender is a Class 4 felony.
